Ethno Complex "Macedonian Village" in Skopje

Great food

Two remarks for one star missing: although the name "Macedonian village", all houses are from Macedonian cities... and second one that can not be corrected so easy: the biggest advantage of the location is the view.. but architect somehow forgot about it.

Nice ethno complex with really beautiful view of Skopje. The stuff was very kind and hospitable.

The complex is amazing,nice old houses from every part of Macedonia.Unfortunately I cant say the same for the restaurant.After we made reservation we waited 20 min to give us a table,we never got the manu,and finaly when the waiter passed us a few times it was time to leave the place.Dont know about the food but it is not cheep.

Extreme efforts nade to mase such beatiful Macedonian heritage!!

You have to wait forever to get served and then again to get the check. The place itself is nice but the service in the restaurant is awful

Pleasantly surprised of the fact that I know the same place to be a meadow, with lot of oak and walnut trees.... Now became a little "hidden" treasure of our culture showing the way of life in the 19th century...

Sweet, but small place.Houses from different regions and times in Macedonia are recreated here.There is also tiny museum with traditional clothes.You can take bus #27 from the city centre and back.Entrance is free

We wondered to Makedonsko Selo without knowing what to expect. After a magical windy road we arrived at this truly beautiful complex with stunning views. After a very interesting walk around the small artesian cratft shops we sat at one of the lovwly restaurants for a Macedonian tapas (compulsory salad and what not). The service and atmosphere was delightful. There is also a small playground for the little ones and the air is fresh oxygen rich even on a hot sunny day.. i did not want to leave! I cannot recommend this place enough. A true gem and a breath of fresh air <3

good restaurant and great views

I visited in late January, in snowy winter. The place was amazing! Only the small streets inside were a bit slippery and was almost impossible to move in inappropriate shoes.

It is very nice place!! I really enjoyed by walking around the Complex..I enjoyed the traditional meal at the restorant!!

A place which if you havent seen, you havent missed anything. An attempt to replicate the traditional houses throughout Macedonia, but rather bias and not all inclusive. Once you are already here, it is worth seeing the Church of St. Panteleimon.

This newly built ethno complex is located on the mountain Vodno, in the village of Gorno Nerezi, next to the Saint Pantelejmon monastery. There you can find houses from different regions of Macedonia, built in their traditional way. There are also some shops and workshops, like the Weaving mill or the Silversmith. These houses are actually guest houses, in which you can sleepover and experience the authentic culture from their respected regions.Also, there you can find a snack-bar and a restaurant, to have a coffee or a nice meal while enjoying the beautiful views. The restaurant is very nice, offering very good food with nice and calm music, but the service is very bad. I had to wait more than an hour for my order and the waiter seemed not interested at all. Maybe I didnt had luck with my waiter, but still, it is a bad experience with the service.Nevertheless, whether just for a walk or just for a good lunch, you must visit this ethno complex.

Would be great if the employees could at least speak basic English.And for the waitresses to smoke while taking orders, nice touch!The menu is extensive, but in reality they have just a third of the items on the menu.At least our waiter was good.

Perfect place to go out of the city and enjoy the food and view.

It is not opened for public, although constructions are finished. According to the locals, no planned dates for opening. From outside it is nice, but it is not worth to visit wihtout the possiblitiy to enter.
